Frequently Asked Questions

(and their answers)

SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT

What is the best way to schedule an appointment?

PREPARING FOR AN APPOINTMENT

Should I arrive a few minutes early for my appointment?

If it is your first appointment, arriving 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time will leave ample time to fill out the client intake form.

Why do you ask for my medical history?

All of our sessions are customized to address your specific wellness goals and challenges. Knowing your pertinent medical history can help us develop the best plan of action and utilize the most appropriate techniques for you as an individual. Additionally, because massage is not appropriate with certain mental and physical conditions, it is important to disclose all known conditions and answer all intake questions honestly.

What do I do during a massage?

Your job as a client is to relax as much as possible and communicate any discomfort to your massage therapist. Some people enjoy 'tuning out' and even falling asleep during a massage. Others have a more fulfilling experience 'tuning in' by focusing on their breathing and communicating more actively with the MT.

Do I undress for a massage?

Typically, yes. It is, however, entirely possible to have an effective session with any level of dis-robing. Your comfort level is most important and we are happy to work with you to achieve the best experience possible.

Is eating before or after a massage recommended?

It is best not to eat a large or heavy meal right before or after a massage. Eating a snack beforehand and a smaller meal afterward is ideal. Drinking water or tea after a session is also encouraged!

What is your cancellation policy?

Ideally, we prefer 24 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling appointments. We understand that unforeseen things happen! Just give us a call to let us know. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, we will reschedule your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late twice or more, we will charge the $45 cancellation fee.
